In the book, the main characters are:

In the beginning, John Grady and Rawlins set out for Mexico to start a new life. When they arrive, they meet a young boy named Blevins, who they go on many adventures with him and fine his horse. Then he just kind of disappears. Then they go to work at Don Hector's ranch. Later, John Grady meets Alejandra and hopes to see more of her. Rawlins and John Grady buy suits, then they go to the dance at the ranch. There, John Grady and Alejandra had a connection...love at first sight.
